Where one reads, writes, prays, and hopes.

First Day

The inspiration for this blog is probably the inspiration for hundreds, maybe thousands? of blogs that have been started in the last couple years: the book and movie Julie/Julia. I was watching the movie today and I thought: "Heck why not? I might as well do something with my extra free time while I still have it." Isn't Nora Ephron a screenwriting genius? Have you ever read the book: "Julie/Julia"? It's a good book but really I like the movie a lot better. Call me a prude (go ahead because I am) but there's too much sexual stuff in that book. I mean there's sensuality in the movie but not as much as the book. Okay, I'm totally off topic.
Like I was saying, Nora Epron. Genius. You can always when you're watching a Nora Ephron.
This isn't what this blog is about.
What's it about? Books, Writing, Religion (but not religion at the same time, and I will get to that), and the desire to combine them together. I'm not a theologian or a writer (yet I hope to be one today). I'm an avid reader and a Christian (let's be bold about this). So I'm going to write about my favorite activities: reading, writing, and praying.
Reading: I read too much for my own good. Mostly Young Adult books but also Christian fiction, childrens books, and anything I think seems like it would be a good read.
Writing: I write poetry, short stories (except it's really hard for me to keep it short), and try my hand at novels (which are hard to finish for me so I have a bunch of partial novels sitting around in notebooks).
Praying: Contrary to some beliefs praying is easy. It's just merely talking to God. In some cases you don't have to even think about what you're saying (more about that later).
All three together: I wish to write a novel called Pentecostal. Pentecostal is about what's like to be a Christian who believes in praying in tongues and baptism of the Holy Spirit (more about that later too, I have a lot of explainig to do, don't I?).
I hope I have readers. If I don't, well that's okay. It's going to be a ride. Hopefully an exciting one.
Your Writer,
Nichole
